I'm pretty sure you can. The question is: Are you allowed to work as a scrutineer and still dance amateur?

Anyway, I think we're all being way too "law-abiding" here. I certainly helped at classes, took money on the door, did music, scrutineered our internal competition, ... I don't think they've ever harrased a university student for having put on music at an internal event, especially seeing i never asked for a penny for it..

Does anyone actually know of a case where EADA procecuted anyone under one of these rules who was clearly not a pro? Fair enough if they go after top-people, if you earn your money with dancing you should not dance as an amateur. But would they really withdraw amateur status from a student for helping out with a class or practice? I very much doubt it...

The uni-circuit creates a lot of work for dance-teachers, and I think they realise it... A lot of people take as many lessons with Pros as they can afford (or more) and people helping each other and/or beginners should be encouraged as it raises the standard *and* makes people want to take more lessons with good pros, rather than less...

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear if there is any precedent of EADA pursuing a claim like that, or if it's just a set of rules they will use if someone is blatantly a pro and dances as amateur...
