True. I looked into this as a serious option a while back. As I recall it worked out at about 50 quid to get qualified (assuming you already knew what your were doing). IVDA could probably afford to buy some existing software. I have a trial copy of 'Scrutiny 3' on my hard-drive, which looks pretty useful (aside: it has the capacity to use systems other than the skating system, so *if* we wanted to we could just write a module for that system and then use it within the existing software). We'd the have to find/borrow two laptops and two printers (inc. backups), and we're away!

Personally, if IVDA were to sponsor my examinations I'd be willing to qualify and scrutineer for a drastically-reduced fee (assuming I'm not trying to dance at the same time!)

Writing our own software on the back of nil practical experience would be highly inadvisable. Maybe after a couple of years' practice...
