 I racked my brain for a while and the best example of a film or a handful of films in this case that shaped society are films like Deep Throat, Behind the Green Door, Debbie Does Dallas, plus a few others made in the 70's. Now don't call be a pervert for brining up this films but these movies brought pornography to a whole new group of people and made adult movies semi-"mainstream". Even though most people don't admit it, a great majority of people has seen an porno sometime in their life. These were higher budget (for porno) and grossed a lot of money in the theaters. These movies plus the invention of the vcr helped make adult movies into the multi-billion dollar industry that it is today. It is getting closer to being mainstream every day with household names like Traci Lords, Jenna Jameson and especially Ron Jeremy.
