(OOC: No prob...and Redd's asked me to tell everyone that she won't be able to post for at least six weeks. I'll find some way to pull her out of the storyline temporarily till she returns...till then, you can "borrow" her, at least till the end of the battle.)
Deil spotted Victor leaving the battlefield, and prepared to launch another Pyrum attack--only to find Mardrave barreling down on him. Hastilly bringing the staff around, he managed to parry the blade aimed at his chest--but not the other one, which sliced through his hand just below the finger joints and continued on, neatly chopping the ebony staff in half. His concentraton shatered, he bellowed in rage and kicked at Mardrave--only to see the vampire yanked into the air by an unseen force. He turned just in time to see Victor's spell launch towards him--and thanks to the earlier damage to his devences inflicted by the others, and the wound Mardrave had just given him, he was in no condition to either evade or counter...
Then the energy ws upon him, tearing through his remaining defenses and reducing muchof him to the elements, with only a white streak of energy disappearing int the sky to mark his passing...
Meanwhile...
Tristan nodded to Vance and Blackjack, still wearing their disguises--just as twelve other similarly clad people showed up behind them. One of them stepped forward.
"You're needed inside--the Mistress has requested more initiates to cast the spell, and to keep the interlopers from intefering. Come with us..."
And with that, they started towards the castle, half-pushing, half-dragging Tristan, Vance and Jack along.
