Well, I read the post last that you steered me around, as you wished, and I am not pissed--just puzzled.

On "straw man," I plead not guilty. I have had that very rap I attributed to you put right in my face by a department chairman at an Oklahoma University with a very high Indian enrollment. He pretty much told me my recruitment efforts were pissing in the wind because if I got any they would not survive. To my face.

In light of the tenor of the previous discussion, the only point I can make out is that we in research universities are not sufficiently grounded in nitty-gritty reality to be "relevant."

That is, in good faith, my best translation of what you have been telling me.

If that's not your intent, I accept your statement that it is not.

NOW, can you tell me what IS your intent?
