Subject: A Little Worried

I will be attending the Chief Illiniwek protest Thursday morning. I'm a little worried that I might not be well enough. I haven't even been outside since Thanksgiving Day -- all I did was spend the day at my friend's home, mostly sitting -- it wiped me out, but I think I'm pretty much recovered.

This protest is very important to me -- I can't miss it. It is also very important to me that I do not appear weak and sick. Most of all, I don't want to do anything to draw attention to myself. I often faint when standing because my blood pressure drops really low, but I don't faint all the time.

I believe my will is stronger than my body. I tell myself that it's only for a short time, and I can go home and sleep until March if I have to. My son will be with me, so that will be a big help. My husband wishes he could go, but he has to work downstate that day.

May I ask a personal favor? Would you send good thoughts my way to keep me standing and alert during this protest? Would you also send good thoughts for the protest to go well, for the people to listen, and for the school board to do the right thing?

Thank you so much.

Kathy
