I don't know the exact count on Jason's web-site but there must be hundreds. BMW has received many letters and e-mails requesting, pleading and demanding some action, other than the placating letter from Duenzl, to no avail. I have considerable experience in dealing with BMW AG and BMW NA. The German mentality is in full force here: "All is in order. Nothing is wrong. We see no reason for you people to be upset. If your engine fails, we will replace it per the warranty. Now, go away and quit bothering us."
To defer or postpone plans for legal action will suit them just fine. That's what they want. Filing a suit will require them to make public certain records on the actual number of failures World-Wide and the names and addresses of owners in the affected group. These owners must be warned! Just because we know about it, doesn't mean that everyone knows. I vote to forge ahead!
