On his talent, test match average of 37. End of story.

As far as the promotion of good young players and his captaincy, sure Nasser played a part but I believe that has been more down to Fletcher, and there is supporting evidence to suggest this.

One of my biggest problems with Hussain, which we both seem to be interpreting very differently, is his alleged bullying of Thorpe to resume his international career before he was ready. He used his longstanding friendship as leverage at a time when the last thing his friend needed was more pressure. Thorpe, may with hindsight, thank Hussain for his international cricket revival but at the time there was a lot of outrage among those surrounding Thorpe and Surrey CCC.

Anyway, talking about talented batsmen, congrats on that 50 yesterday.
