Just got off the phone with my best friend from high school. Her mom had back surgery a few weeks ago to repair a cracked vertebrae. They didn't know what caused it to crack until they did the surgery. Big tumor. They did a bunch of tests and it's spread to her lungs. They said, even with the aggresive chemo, she will be dead within a year. This is the first of my close knit circle of friend's to lose a parent. Her mom is wonderful and I will go over to see her during the holidays to say goodbye. This is just so unreal...
