I took Valeria out in the morning, bc that way she would be interestad in other things than cring or being hungry, wich worked great. And we went to Sam's and I found this great almost light bulb size colores xmas lights for 9 dlls!!!!!! they are beautiful and since you live in the us, you must get them for much less. so if you are interested you take a look, they are adorable¡
Oh, and I bought myself my xmas present a sewign machine, hehe dh doesn't know yet¡

OK I had my antenatal appointment today and things are not good :0(

My blood pressure is ridiculosly out of control and I have protein in my urine. I have also been shown to only have 50% kidney function right now.

They have told me that next visit they will be starting me on meds to lower the blood pressure (if they can)and that they are looking at now inducing Alanah at 36 - 37 weeks gestation.

They said that fi they have to induce that ealry for my health that I will be given steriods to enhance her lung development and she should be fine....

I now have to go to the doctors office every alternate week and they will do the full works bloods, urine check etc etc etc....and they want me to check in at the ER if I have even a headache that needs a paracetamol!

We also have been told that they are 100% sure that if I had another baby my kidneys will completely shut down so this will definately be our last (they are talking about doing a historectomy to ensure my health)...

But I am just happy Princess Alanah is Fine and growing well ;0)

OK, but where do I get one from? We decided to not get the snowman stocking from PersonalCreations.com (well, DF decided; I still think it's adorable) but they apparently don't have the beautiful velvet red&green one I was going to order but never did ... AUGH!

So now it's almost Christmas time & I have no stocking for DS, but I do have stocking stuffers! My local Things Remembered has some available but I don't really care for them, esp when compared to the other beautiful one.

What are you going to/did you do? I really wanted a personalized one; any other stores that do personalized stockings?

Hey guys - I deleted a couple of my own threads where I was experimenting with pictures and I deleted most of the responses to Janice's picture thread. There were FORTY EIGHT messages lol - they were taking up a lot of room and were mostly trial and error posts on how to post pictures.

Once we get this all figured out, we'll post (or more specifically, I'll ask Sherri and/or Janice to post in layman's terms) how to get pics up here.

I hope you're not upset, but I had to get the thread length down, it was insane :)

P.S. I figured out we can't post picks from pregnancy.org unless the picks are open in another browser - isn't that weird? The only time I could see the pics was when my gallery was open in another browser. Oh well.

With all the babies either coming up to PARTY time or just Had PARTY time I thought it would be fun if we could come up with a list of food ideas to share between us!!!

I have a ton of ideas but you great gals always have ones that are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cooooooooooooolllllllllllllleeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr than mine ;0)

Here is my list:

*Teddy sandwiches
*Marshmallow cups
*Cheese and bacon pinwheels
*Little frankfurts (you know the tiny hotdog things)
*fairy bread (ewww gross candy on bread)

OK.... I have decided to forget this whole sippee cup issue with Jake (for now at least)

It only ends with one of us in tears every time we try it so I am taking it that Jacob isnt ready to give up his "bot bol" just yet......

I am just going to focus on the solids being the main attraction and work on him hoding his bottles for now and take it as he wants it for a little while.....

Ok we have successfuly introduced 1 bottle of cows milk a day and are gonna leave it like that for a little bit until we can get him drinking that one out of a sippe cup but....

OK WHEN DO WE GIVE THE MILK NOW??? Do you guys do it before or after there solids??

Also Jacob isnt too happy about this sippee cup thing and advice on how to make him happier with it or should I just offer it, let him take as much as he wants out of the cup then bottle it up and give the rest to him that way???

I have been giving him the rest of a 200ml cup in a bottle so he gets the milk and he has been drinking it but I am thinking I could also give him another shot at the cup later etc etc etc (like with dinner etc)

I dont know this mum stuff is really hard :0)

Since I am always interested in the stats of other babies I thought I'd post Jacob's from his visit this morning:

weight: 24.2 lbs (75th percentile)
height: 32 in (95th ")
head: 48.6 cm (90th ")

The welty dry patches under his arms are excema. We are to rub Eucerin or Aquafil on him 4x/day until it clears up. He got his ruebella vaccine. The dr said he will most likely have a reaction in about 10-14 days with a low-grade fever and red dots all over. Poor baby. I hope this doesn't happen!

Totally off topic, but I'm really proud of him. He's been busting his butt at work (including taking lunches with the boss to kiss ass) and it's paid off. He had his review today and his boss said he's getting a promotion!!! Normally, this would just be kinda like "oh great, ok" but this company has been laying people off and paring down to the best of the best. The fact that they are actually going to PROMOTE him is a REALLY big deal. I'm so proud of him!!!!

And of course, the extra money will be great lol!!

My SUV (1999 Oldsmobile Bravada) recommends NOT putting any car seats in the center, so I had Corben RF on passenger side. I'm debating what side to put the carseat on when he goes FF.

OK I have a solution that seems to be working with Jacob....

He was always at the tree until I found a few old plastic decorations that he could play with - now all he does is grabs his from near the tree and trys to put them on it....

Cross posting but hope this helps someone.

If you are doing a themed party but would like to save money on the plates and napkins, do what I do and have always done. Buy half (or so) of the quantity you need in your theme and then buy the other half in the same size, but just a coordinating color. The plain colored plates will be a lot cheaper. Do the same with napkins. Then if you stack your plates/napkins on the table, alternate them (themed, plain, themed, plain, and so on). I also never buy themed cups, but just coordinating colors.

Party supplies can get expensive. I do several parties a year that involve families and I like to have pretty plates, but would rather spend the bulk of my money on fun things. This way I can have my theme, but it isn't quite as expensive as doing it all that way.

Also, check Sam's Club for cutlery and cups. You can get a big box of clear (goes w/any theme) forks/knives/spoons for not too much. I also just got a huge package of multicolored (primaries - red, green, blue, yellow) cups there and they go with just about anything.

Just wanted to share. We had ds's 9th birthday yesterday. Hard to believe my little boy is NINE!!! Anyway, we had a great time. His party was "space" themed and we had it at a local laser tag place. All total there were 8 kids, dh, me, my sister, and Katie-Bree. They all had so much fun. Bree wouldn't take a nap yesterday (except for a short one just before leaving for the party), but she did sooo well. The kids (including dh and my sister) loved playing laser tag. The party favors were a big hit and ds loved all his gifts. I was so happy that it all turned out so well. I'll put pictures on the MSN site when I get them off my camera.

So, that's one birthday down, one to go!

BOth the tires on your float in the parade are FLAT!!!!!!!!! We had TWO flats on our Cheerleader float last week .....I laughed the WHOLE way through it was that or CRY. I feel like I've been gone forever & I apologize, but we had family in town for the weekend. So, Friday evening, DF, DS, and I are playing in the family room, discussing how DS was walking for dc just the previous day, when he FINALLY does it for us, ON PURPOSE & SO PROUD!! We could NOT contain ourselves, we were so happy & proud :)

So DF set up the camcorder & we got shots!!! When he can get it on the computer, I'll post it (like Karen & Sherri did) only I'M IN IT, TOO!! Oh, no, you guys will get to see me in all my glory, LOL ;) MIL & her dh finally arrive & get to see the video, plus DS actually walked for them, too!

Saturday was a blur of excitement, fun, eating, & shopping ... it was Winterfair 2002 :) An art show that is so cool. Corben did SO WELL all day, I can't even tell you. Only fussed a little bit when he was tired but wouldn't nap; DF bounced the stroller a while & DS couldn't stay awake! Slept like 2.5 hours or s/t, it was great! Oh, he got so many looks & SMILES at him; we are just too darn proud to be his parents!!

We got some Santa gifts as well as others. I'm very curious now b/c DF told me that my Christmas present is big, so I'm really wondering! But back to the topic ;) DS did very well at the restaurant after and back at home, where he didn't go to bed until everyone left around 10:30 or so? We only have one extra bed, so the normal group stayed in a hotel like every year (we do Winterfair every year! OH WOULDN'T MISS IT!!). He also took steps to show off to everyone at our home Sat. night, such a cutie.

Today was brunch & DF's Christmas party. My father drove down to watch DS for us; we were only gone less than 4 hours. They had a blast & DS apparently didn't cry at all. He had a big blowout ;) but pop-pop handled it just fine! He is in heaven w/his grandson.

Thanks for reading, had to share our wonderful & FUN weekend :) I must tell you, also, that I missed my ZF friends & thought of you guys often!

I am home am today has been MARVELLOUS!!!!

I ACED my exam with a massive score of 92 out of 100!!!!!

I am now a licensed Nail technician!!!!!!

Then Adam surprises me with my xmas gift early a diamond cross!!! (he he he cathy that catalogue gave him the hint) so I let him have his early also and he just loved it!! (I got him a DVD player)

HA HA HA This is so funny I just had to tell you all....

Jacob was playing in our family room and I could hear him going mmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmmmm yummmmmm etc etc etc and a rustling of what sounded like a wrapper....

anyway I went in there as I thought "what has he got now???" to find him sitting at the base of the xmas tree with his back towards me....

So I call his name and say what ya got baby and he half turns and smiles with red all over is face - I panick thinking what has he done etc etc etc and rush over and scoop him up to find clutched in his little hand is a candy cane from the tree (we hang the lolly ones on our tree).

Mind you these are minty and quite srong but when I tried to take it off of him he cried and cried so I let him have it :0) _ I guess you could say he is getting festive already!!!! LOL

But even funnier still he had a blocked nose and after he ate it he could breathe thru it agan :0) maybe I should try that remedy ;0)

Oh well I guess im gonna have to move all the candies further up the tree......

Just wanted to share our day with all of you girls. We had a great time, Valeria had a good day considering whe was sick, dh was a different story, he felt like crab all day long. I made the ham in in turned out great, Valeria had a blast getting frosting on her, she enjoyed herself a lot. Dh's family gave her this great toy, it is a Leap frog "little tad", it's great, it sings day time songs like twinklew little str, itsy bitsy, little sheep, etc, and you can program it to play night time clasical music, in it's bib it has colored figures that light up and say educational stufff like " yellow star", and makes game out of it, like blinking and if she pushes them it says "well done then a song" it gives kisses and she absolutley loved it when she saw it, she hugged it, so sweet, I think it would make a great gift for any baby. We gave 2 samll things, a figure sorter thing, and a Barney music video ( I didn't want Barney but that's the only one I found ) and the little people farm we were going to give her.. well, we decided to give it to her later, when she really understands it, and that way she gets new toys in about 6 months!
when night came, she slept at 6:20 but woke up at 7:30 and wouldn't go down until 12:00 !!!!!!!!!! wow but she was doing all this crazy stuff, laughing, walking, and saying "cow" when I sang old mcdonald, OOOOHHH she is starting to talk.
She woke up at 6:00, yes 6:00 and when I put her down again the cough wouldn't let her sleep again, poor thing, now we are all sick, sleep deprived and looking like hell, but we had a great time!

Is anyone having troubles with the calendar on the MSN site?? Liz is seeing everything on the wrong date (a day earlier) i.e. Xmas on the 24th, Jared's birthday on the 25th, etc. I see nothing weird when I check it out. Is anyone else having a problem like that????

I woke up with a bit of a tickly throat and put it down to nerves or something but now I am full blown sick :0(

My throat has that scratchy sandpaper feeling right down to my chest and when I cough it feels like I am trying to expel a lung....

I think I have a chest infection so I am taking my butt down to the doctor tomorrow to see what he can do ....

I am almost sure Jake is coming down with it too as he screamed when he had a drink this afternoon and looked a bit off so im gonna get him checked out also...

The only plus is that Dh is home this weekend to help look after us sickies and he went down and got me JOHN Q to watch (it was fantastic for those who havent seen it) and He is still in my good books for the necklace :0)

Anyway Im just bored and after a bit of sympathy .... as you can tell Im a bit of a sook when it comes to being ill :0(

I bought htis piece of smoked ham at Sam's bc that's what we are going to have for dd bday ( we are all adults ) thinking it was easy to make, my question is...do I put it in the oven and PRESTO¡ or do I have to do something to it?

I went into Party City expecting to pay around $50.00 bucks for everything and ended up spending $108.00!!!
That much even after I put some things back!
DH will **** if he finds out how much I spent.
I got everything in a 1st birthday party girly theme. I got: invitations, thank you cards, banners, table covers, cake plates, napkins, party hats, party blowers, ballons, sippy cup, bib, candle, spray icing (for me to decorate the cakes - yes, I'm making them), and even a stuffed doggy that everyone at the party can sign! I scanned a picture of the invites and put it on the msn picture album. Everything is very pretty but I didnt realize it would cost so much. And we still have food, soda and cake stuff to buy!

Avery and I also took a picture at a photo booth at Walmart tonight. It turned out cute. I put that on the album too. It was hard to get her to look into the camera!!!

I also wanted to confess that I took BC of my favorites list. I havent posted on it in like a week or more and just dont feel like I know anyone on there anymore. Im just gonna stick to ZF and PO for now.

Also - I'm on my 3rd day of CM so wish me luck and send some baby dusy my way!!!

I'm at a loss here.

Zack is beating the crap out of his older brother, Alex. Every time Alex is in the room, Zack's hitting him on the head with something. The more we say no, the bigger Zack smiles and the harder he does it. We've been calling him "evil baby" all day cuz he just won't stop!

I've tried picking him up and holding him on my lap for a "time out" type of thing, but it doesn't work - he goes right back to it. With other naughty behaviors (like pulling on the curtains) we've ignored it and he will stop doing it, but he's actually hurting Alex and I won't stand by and let him do that.

Any advice?? I feel badly for Alex cuz he wants to play with Zack so badly but he always ends up leaving the room cuz Zack hurts him :(

Don't think about it, I know what you mean, it's hell taking care of a baby and keeping the house clean, but look at me... I'm on my p.j., with a horrible pre-cold, headache, dishes on the sink, clothes everywhere, and you know what I'm doing while Valeria is sleeping??? I?M HERE hahahah, thinking about it makes me mad, I have to do things for Valeria's bday tomorrow, clean and make myslef presentable¡ MMMMMMM I think not right now

Well girls my time has come!!!! Tomorrow I am about to undertake my exams for my diploma in Nail Technology!!!!

You may remember wayyyyyyyyyy back to the dark ages when I was posting at BC that I told you all how I suffer from panic attacks etc etc etc and havent been able to complete anything like this due to them....

WELL I HAVE THEM BASTARDS BEAT NOW DONT I!!!!!

Sorry about the language but I am thrilled to have come so far and not to have even had one and there is one group of people I would lke to thank in particular!!! YOU GUYS!!!

Your support and encouragement has been great not to mention your friendship!! I really dont know how I would have gone with out all the help you guys have given me :0) even if you were just a place to vent off all that nervous tension...

You guys will be asleep whilst I take my exam but I will be sure to let you know how I went - I am confident on the theory but the practical side has me packing death ;0)... I know deep down I will do well thou....

and it's a bad one, this it he first time she has ever been sick, and let me tell you she isn't a good patient, she cried for 1:30 hours non stop, her eyes are all red, her nose is runny and congested at the same time, I hope it gets better since I have no clue how to help her, except give her her medicine but if I do it makes it worst, and forget about putting that bulb to extract her mocus, oh my, I just live her with a full nose, I tried it twice and the cries didn't stop for 20 min.
I feel so bad for her, and I'm loosing my mind in the process.
Now to continue with my vent, we went to classes yesterday and the **** teacher gave her some of that finger paint, she got it all over her, and now she ruined her new pants set. Then she had the nerve to say "when we play with this, you should bring an apron" Apron? Play? you never told me you were planing this kind of painting, only crayolas, wich she didn't like at all, just to trhow all over the place.
Well, thanks for hearing and any advice on how to help Valeria will be nice¡ :)

This forum has been up for less than a month and we already are going into our SECOND archive of messages!! I do believe the threads will automatically start getting deleted (the old ones) when there are 3 full pages of archives.

In any event, in order to save some space on here, I have a request. You will notice when you respond to a post that it automatically quotes the post for you to reference. That's an option - I can turn that off, but I personally like to be able to quote parts of text some times. If you're not using the text of the post in your response, please delete that text. It will make the posts shorter, and then we will have posts deleted less often.

Dear Ms. Donna and JakeyB:

I have been so sad today because my teeth hurt. But then, mommy told me she got a package from you today and it had MY NAME ON IT!! She let me open it (even though it's not my birthday) because she thought maybe it might help me feel better.

It did! Thank you for the Dinosaur toy!! It makes all kinds of sounds, has colors and music. I've been playing with it all afternoon (when I'm not crying!).

Thank you very much - my mommy keeps saying something about crying cuz it's so thoughtful, whatever that means, and she's going to save the card!
