You will notice that we have some new members. Most of you know them from PO, but some of you don't. Nicole, April & Jaclyn WELCOME!! Hope you enjoy yourselves!!!

I feel this is just as much your board as it is mine. That being said, I would like to hear from you if there is anyone from another board that you do NOT want invited here. I do not want to bring in someone that someone who is already an established member does not like. This is your place too.

I'm typing this here b/c I don't want to start anything; I'm a good girl :)

Anyway, I just read through that post (all 5 pgs) & please, why the hell did Sue continue to read the posts? If she was offended, she said her piece (after Cher did, I noticed), then she should have stopped looking!

I wish I had the balls to post this on that thread, but I don't know her so I don't want to say that, kwim? But can anyone who DOES know her explain to me why she kept coming back? Oh, is she offended at seagulls? I'd bet so!

God I get so annoyed by some things!!!!!

OK Jake can walk if he is holding on to his stride to ride but that is where his toddling stops (and he aint even real eager to do that either...)

He doesnt pull up still :-0 and shows no signs of wanting to but when he is put against something he can stand and play.... BUT he wont cruise yet either....

SHOULD I BE WORRIED????????

Any tips on getting him up and motivated???

we try and get him to cruise between myslef and DH and he does it fine as long as one of us is holding onto him so he has no probs in that sense ..... I just dot get it....

He is a really fast bottom shuffler so maybe he is just too efficent that way and doesnt see the need to walk???

My sleep, not Megan's LOL. I have the hardest time lately staying asleep. When I get home from work (1am) I read a book to fall asleep. It really helps me. If I just immediately lay down and try to sleep, I obsess about the day and the next day...

So, I fall asleep quickly, but I do not stay asleep. I am like an infant LOL. I wake every 1-2 hours and feel completely wide awake!! Aacck, help!! I only get to have about 5-6 hours a night anyway, so I need to make the most of it. Its just so frustrating to have a quiet house, and no one needing me, and I can't sleep!!!

Hi, starting a thread here. Valeria doesn't talk at all, she will babble none stop, all day long, but no real words yet, not even mama. I'm not really concerned about it, but just curious how much your babies "talk".
Just now, I'm noticing that she "understands" some of what I'm saying, it's so adorable how her face turns into this recognition face , you know, her eyes light up, like a real light bulb turns in her head LOL

Just wanted to let you in that as of the 27th im not going to be around anymore :0(.....

Adam and I have gotten in way over our heads in debt and it is time we started being responsible adult with our money - so this means forgoing my net account along with a few other things......

I am really going to miss my time with you guys and I have made some extremely good friends but my time here is over :(

What a surprise it was, I got 2 xms cards¡ Thanks Terri and Bella, the cards were beautiful, but the fact that you took time to write me and send one to me, really brought me joy. I´m amused at how wonderful our friendship is, we have things in common ( our babies ) but live countries away , but that doesn't matter, I will always remeber the great times this cyber world has brought me.
Recieving cards was so nice, I wouldn't have thought it would be, so next year I will make sure to send cards so everyone I care about knows it.

I just wanted to take this time out to say how much Donna means to me. Over the last 8 months or so (I forget how long it's been), she has become a great friend. I trust her implicitely and she has always been there to support me. I know that I always have a shoulder to cry on with her and that she will always listen to me and help me.

I get so excited when I see her log on to Yahoo cuz I know I'll have a great chat with her. I can't wait to see Alanah and find out all about her and how Jake is growing.

I get sad knowing that she and I will probably never meet, but that doesn't matter. She's one of my best friends in the whole world and I love her like a sister. Heck, I think at this point she'd be happy to trade her real sister for me LOL.

Anyways, don't ask me why I'm all misty tonight heh, I just wanted everyone, especially Donna, to know what a great friend she is.

Well last night was another sleepless night here ....I'm SO hopping John will be home tonight . That way Brie doesn't cry for him so much .I think she misses him so much on top of her being sick . Ever since she came home from the hospital he holds he EVERY night for about an hour or so . Not trip she's going with him :-) Then today I take Brittany ( my oldest) to the ENT dr her ears have been bleeding & ever time I take her to her dr w/the same thing they just tell me its an ear infection . well this time I didn't want to here the SAME OLD thing . Well the dr today told me its not an ear infection its a retained tube. she had her 2nd set of tubes put in in June 01 & one is stuck in there so its like having a scab over the tube & ear drum . So we are doing ear drops for 2 weeks to see if that will help the tube out if not they'll have to do surgey to get it out .....Not to happy about having to put her to sleep AGAIN .but right now I'm SO SICK of her ears beeding every few months . He told me he could do the surgey this week if I wanted him to but I'd rather wait to make SURE her daddy is here to help out & also the drops might help it come out w/out having to be put to sleep .......Ya'll don't know how much I want the drops to work .its so hard to see you baby (she still my baby) have to go through being put to sleep .....So not only am I sleepy I'm worried about Britt ......
Well I'm off to try to take a nap .wish me luck ..

I wanted to share this with you all.....

Jacob was eating the stage 3 baby jars of fruits etc etc etc and I was thinking you know they are real expensive and I wish I had time to make my own again (but I dont)and that I would really like him to be eating pieces anyway.....

I was thinking and thinking about this and it hits me "LIGHT BULB MOMENT"....

I got the big value cans if fruit slices/chunks and put them in a single layer on a tray and froze them. Then I put them into zip lock freezer bags. now for jakes morning snack I give him 2-3 slices of fruit (which I have defrosted overnight in his snack bowl) and He just loves it :0)

I am now working up to more and more pieces so that he gets used to eating a piece of fruit instead of MUSH!!!

Just thought you gals may be interested!

Well my DH left yesterday morning to wire a house in AL. Well first of all I HATE staying here by myself w/the kids . Well last night was going pretty good , until I was headed to bed & Brie got back up crying (which she NEVER does) . So I thought I'd put her in bed w/me & try to nurse her . Well she didn't want that . I also noticed that she had a low grade fever so I checked it & sure enough she did so I gave her something for it ...Well She wouldn't sleep the WHOLE night ...I don't mean she was up late I mean she NEVER went back to sleep .....OMG I'm so tied ..On top of not sleeping last night I had to take a friend to the hospital to have so test done that ended up taking ALL day ...We got out just in time to pick up the kids from school .So I guess I'll just have to go to bed early tonight w/the kids .. & when I picked up the 2 little girls from Pawpaw's he said the Brie didn't sleep but for 30 mins thats it for the whole day ........So I can only hope that means she'll be overly tied tonight ....
Wish me luck .....I sure would like to get some sleep ;-)

First, I want to say HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY to all babies I missed who turned ONE :) I apologize, but I did think of you guys A LOT! I've been trying to catch up, but w/Corben home ill all last week, it's been difficult. I've barely had time on the puter.

So, on to the holidays: mostly very nice, no diamond, but I did get some wonderful gifts. Dave gave me a matching Nautica Jacket (same as his & Corben's) which fits like a dream & is extremely warm! He also got me some gloves, but not the ones I asked for b/c I never gave him a list, oops. The piece de resistance? He bought me a Nikon Coolpix 2500 DIGITAL CAMERA, YEAH!!! LOOK OUT WORLD :)

Though, be warned, I take BAD PHOTOS!! I can't wait to share pictures w/you guys! I still have to update Corben's website w/pics from his first birthday party & Christmas. Since they have to be so small, I'm still working on them in PSP :)

Our First Birthday Party had 41 people at our house, including the 3 of us. It was hectic as all get out, though I always get REALLY stressed out before a party at our home. We almost ran out of food, as I predicted, but our cake turned out WONDERFUL! Everyone said they had a nice time & I think it did turn out well, considering :)

I don't care what everyone else did for their kids 2nd, 3rd, whatever ... *I* plan to only invite the nuclear family from now on, until he's old enough to want friends! This means in-laws & our siblings only; no more of our aunts & their kids. Nice the first year, but no more!

As for Holidays, we spent Christmas Eve at MIL's, though we were 2.5 hours late. Hey, traffic sucked big time, we've got a 1 yo to contend with now, etc. She's not appreciative, never is, so DF said we're staying home next year, YEAH!! I hate that she is so "bad" to her son, but it's good for me, in a way.

After we left her house @ 11 PM, we went to my parents, 45 mins from MIL. Stayed over there, spent Christmas Day w/them, my aunt who lives in SC (always comes up for Christmas & stays w/my mom, her sister), & both my sisters & their families (a first!). Very nice time, until their 2 yo pushed, HARD, Corben away, he fell, & I scolded her. Her 3 yo sister yelled at me, "don't yell at her" over & over again; I was highly annoyed at her, but what can I do? Nothing. I did "complain" to my sister about this, but only slightly b/c I knew she wouldn't understand (this is the weird sis).

Spent the rest of the week at my parents, which was very nice. Saw Nemesis again, hung out, etc. I look forward to next year, though I am slightly saddened we'll be mostly alone. My family has no problem coming down for a couple of hours (or so they say) so we'll see. All in all, a good holiday, could've been better, could've been a heckuva lot worse. I won't mention how Corben HATES his carseat after being in it 2.5 hours staright & cries until he's taken out of it (nice 45 min drive to my parent's, let me tell you, ugh!) ;) At least we now know what the problem is, since he did this at Thanksgiving, too.

alright he was holding onto his stride to ride walker but he was walking with out anyone holding his hands!!!

He was actually supposed to be showing his nan and Aunt how he could stand all by himself holdn onto it when all of a sudden he took off like a rocket :0) he never looked back!!

OMG I cant believe it!!! My baby is growing up to quickly....

We went for Devon's 12 mo ckup today and he is growing like a weed. He is 31 1/2 and weighs 25 1/2 lbs. While waiting in the office Devon fell and busted his lip. So when the doctor came in he had a fat lip and was none too happy. Then he got his shots and was even more pissed. The nurse gave him a sucker and all was well again lol. Thanks for letting me share.

Yep, you heard right; he's now in the toddler room at dc! It's a good thing, but I'm kind of depressed today, go figure. They told me he would start transitioning this week. Please remember he was out of dc most of last week due to high fever:

I walked into dc this AM & mgmt tells me I can deposit his stuff in either room (toddler or infant). Well, last I knew, his stuff was in infant room, plus I have to pick him up early today for his 1 yr appt, so I decide infant room. Besides, I KNOW THEM!

Walk into infant room, notice his name is gone from his drawer (I knew 2 new babies were starting today). I'm shocked, but think, o.k. Open the drawer to discover SOMEBODY ELSE'S stuff in it!! OMG, now I'm feeling nauseated, like someone just kicked me in the stomach. I tell infant room I feel like they're kicking us out & leave to go to toddler room.

Toddler room ... I've never been in there, so don't know what to expect. Nice teachers, though I've got to get to know them now. I kiss Corben & he walks away, never looking back (o.k. ONCE, I saw!) Talk w/teacher, give stuff over, etc. & leave, knowing Corben is happy & playing w/toys & kids :)

I think it boils down to: I WASN'T READY ... I HADN'T BEEN TRANSITIONED! DS was fine, which is good; I prefer that to screaming ;)

Just had to get this off my chest; I already called DF (left v/m) & talked to my mother!!

I'm wondering what is up with this kid lately...his separation anxiety from me has hit a new high. He will sob, actually sob with tears and everything, if I leave the room for any reason. Doc says this is normal. I say it's annoying hahaha.

Also, he whines, almost all the time. As I'm typing this, he is crying and I can't figure out why. He doesn't need a new diaper, he has a cup out here and snacks as well. He just got over his shot-induced fever so I can understand the crankiness then, but this has been going on for a couple weeks now.

I know that a lot of the crying is temper tantrums, like right now - he obviously wants something but is not getting it.

Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions on this??

Jake had his check up today here are his tinee tinee stats ;0)

Weight: 19lb 4oz
Height: 29.13"
H/C: 17.91"

We also dicussed Jakes new adversion to lifing his legs on the change table (HE SCREAMS AND SCREAMS WHEN WE DO IT) and they checked for back and leg problems but everything looks cool and they seem to think it is a new phase.....

They said although he is small he is very healthy and looks to be in proper propertion...

Who is still using a paci besides Jake out there????

How and when are you going to get rid of them???

And for those who already have (either with your DEC01 bubba or previous babies) how did you do it???

I am trying really hard to not give into Jake as he only had a paci when "I" gave one to him at nap/bed time but sometimes when he is crying/moaning about going to bed it is the only thing that seems to work - like thats what he was upset about???

I know when he is ready he will lose it but hmmmmmmm........

And I still have Avery's birthday party to get through!!
Dh and I are pretty disgusted at ourselves for putting so much money on a credit card we had paid off last year!
Seems like we take 1 step forward and 2 steps back! We really need to win the lottery or something! Not counting our house and truck I think we are like 20,000.00 in debt with credit cards and school loans! It just sucks! I need to get 2 more dc kids and that will bring in another 800.00 a month! Its just been so nice having just the 2 neighbors kids and then Avery but we need the money!
Sometimes life is just stressful! Thanks for letting me vent! Hope everyone is having a great new year!!!

Well, I'm back at work today and just wanted to check in and say hello! I've been on vacation since the 20th, so I haven't been on in quite a while. I've just been glancing over old messages. Hope everyone is doing well.

We got lots of good pictures while we were in Kansas. Hopefully, we will get those posted on our website soon so I can share them. We had Bree's Christmas and 1 year pictures done at Picture People and they turned out well. I'll try to scan and post those, too.

We went to a dinner theatre with friends on Thursday the 26th as a late anniversary dinner. We say Richard Kline (Larry from Three's Company) in a show called Caught in the Net. It was really funny. The dinner was excellent. It was the first time we've been out with our friends in years and years. It was nice.

Life in our house is pretty uncertain at the moment. Lots going on in the world that may directly affect us soon. I'm just trying to stay strong. I try to remind myself that when men went to war in WWI and WWII, and even Vietnam and Korea, the wives had no idea when or if they'd be home or when they would hear from them. They were strong and made it through...so can I! It will be hardest on the children, but I know they will survive, too. My thoughts already drift to those who will not come home and to their families. It saddens me. Ok, enough of that.

Bree still has NOT broken out with Chicken Pox...darn it! Oh well! Maybe next time!

Corben's doing very well at eating table foods, except he still "forgets" to swallow at times. He'll chew on the same piece of s/t forever, even with water to "drown" it. What are you guys feeding your little ones now? I need ideas; I cruised Meijer tonight & came home w/baby goldfish ;)

Seriously, I want him to eat normal food, esp since he's transitioning to the toddler room next week, IF he gets to go back anyway (fever's still here, darnit; I HATE HATE HATE paying $200 for a week's worth of tuition & he's only there one darn day!)

I see their menu so can get ideas from it, but it's not formulated specifically for his age group, so I'm asking you guys!

As for Dr. Sears, his Baby Book talks about how his children (& supposedly ours) will be more confident & secure & whatever if we co-sleep & BF. Well, MINE ISN'T! We've been cosleeping & BF forever but he is a major whinybutt! Now, he gets it honestly, but still ... COME ON!

I want a child who will actually sleep once in a while. I don't usu mind having to nurse him to sleep, but I DO want him to nap, esp when he's ill. I also want him to sleep 1) at a normal bed time (8 pm, say, instead of 11!) & 2) for MORE than 2 HOURS at a time!

Any ideas? I've got some books out from the library right now but haven't read them yet. I liked E. Pantley's No Cry Sleep Solution but didn't try the ideas. I just want him to sleep, you know? Plus be secure, like he's "supposed to" :)

Thanks to your guys' suggestions, I called my bank. Well, when I called the bank, it turns out it wasn't $150.00 in fees, it's $240 because there were EIGHT transactions that bounced. OH MY $&#^ING GOD!!!! Well, I explained what happened and the guy on the phone REFUNDED ALL $240.00 to my account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I signed up for overdraft protection so it doesn't happen again. I'm so happy. What a difference a day makes.

I never would have thought to call the bank, I didn't think they'd be so nice about it!!!

So thanks guys!!!! Looks like I owe ya - well, $240.00 LOL!!!!

Well all the birthday gifts have been opened and the party has been had :0( MY LITTLE MAN IS ONE and I am feeling a bit like a deflated balloon.....

Yesturday was Fantastic - we had a BBQ dinner for Jacobs actual b/day with his Grandmothers, aunts, uncles etc etc etc. Jake devoured a HUGE slice of cake - you should have seen his eyes light up :0) (I am getting pics developed tomorrow - will post asap) and got ever so spoilt.

Today we held his b/day party and it was a hoot - 4 of his little play friends couldnt come due to getting the virus off of jacob which meant that there was only like 3 kids 4 if you included Jacob there but the Adults were amazing joining in the games etc etc etc and at one point we had a 23 person pass the parcel going!!! I didnt stop laughing the whole afternoon....

I am now exhausted and a little sad cause I know that this precious time with my boy is going way to quickly.... cant I just have a tiny piece of my ever so small baby back?????

i don't know if you are superstitius (sp?) or not, but it's worth the try and having silly fun on the mean time.

TRAVEL: taking suitcases in and out of the house
MARRIAGE: sitting and standing at each bell ring
MONEY: a) putting money on your shoes
b) putting 3 coins forming a pyramid on your door
and leaving them there year round
c) hanging a lamb on your door ( as a gift better )
d) putting money under your plate
NEW CLOTHS: wearing underwear inside out
LOVE: wearing red panties ( given as a gift better )
HAPPINES: wearing yellow panties ( gift better)
WISHES COME TRUE: eating a grape with each bell ring , while thinking your wish
PROSPERATY (sp) : eating a spoonful of lentils, or throwing lentils thru your house
TAKE AWAY BAD THINGS AND BRING GOOD ONES: write down on a piece of paper all the bad things you want to end this year, fold it and burn it, and in a new paper write down all the things you want for next year, fold it and keep it, better yet, take an apple, core it and put the paper in it, put some honey and cinammon in it so everything will be sweet next year.
TAKE AWAY BAD LUCK OR VIBES: sweep your house form the inside to the outside and throw everything ( dust, etc) thru the door

I hope you don't think I'm crazy, I just find this things funny, and maybe just maybe they'll work

It is now 9:15pm on the 31st here in south australia and there isnt long to the big count down!!!

My resolution is to lose all the baby weight and then some after Alanah is born and also not to be so high strung over the small stuff!!!

Just curious - do you use jar/canned baby foods????

If you do what stage is Orli on??? How does he like them???

I am using jarred/canned foods now casue I just dont have the time to make my own anymore (I know bad mummy bad bad mummy) and Jake is on the green label heinz and some of the heinz kids range but we have to fork mash em to get him to eat the lumps and sometimes he will take the lumos out of his mouth....

Anyway just curious

Jake still aint fussed over holdn his own bottles or drinking milk out of a sipee but I DESPERATELY want to get him off the bottle before Alanah comes so I have come up with this idea.....

At lunch when he wants a bottle I am going to sit him in his high chair and place his bottle of milk in front of him. I wont feed it too him (I know I gotta be cruel to be kind right!) no matter how much of a stink he put on....

Then when he is doing the bottle himself I will do the same with the cup just put it there and if he is hungry he will drink it right?? (one can only hope!!)

We are also going cold turkey on the Paci from today as I think he takes it just casue we give it to him (he only has it at nap and bedtimes and we give it to him then)

Has anyone tried this method and had luck with it?????

WISH ME LUCK GUYS!!!! I REALLY DONT WANT A TODDLER WALKING ROUND WITH A PACI HANGING OUT OF HIS MOUTH OR A BOTTLE EITHER FOR THAT MATTER ;0)

Well Jake was so sick today I ended up back at the DR. with him but the good news is that he doesnt have and never did have the chicken pox.

It turns out that he has one nasty virus and it was a viral rash that was causing all the spots and it looks like it may turn into a chest infection so he has put him on antibiotics.

His fever broke finally on xmas day much to my relief and he is starting to eat more but now due to having something in his belly it is giving him diahoreea....(and he had white cotton sheets on his bed trust me not a pretty sight to see)

He is much happier this afternoon and is even playing with some of his xmas gifts but only for a little while then he wants to go back to bed :0(

The DR said it should be a few more days and then MR B should be healthy again so fingers crossed ofr his party On wednesday...

I hope all of you are well! It's been a busy week with Rudy here and Christmas and Jeb's bday tomorrow. Jeb is still sick. We put him on a new antibiotic today. Hopefully it will work.

Things have been crazy though so I'm going to keep this short so I can look for my tylenol!
