 There is an interview in the current issue of Goldmine magazine with Dion. The interviewer claims that since Dion was supposed to be on the plane with Buddy, his whole life was changed after that. Of course Dion says nothing to dismiss the notion that it is simply not true. He's been telling this story for so long that he actually believes it to be true. Anyone who's read any of Bill's or Ryan's books knows that Tommy Allsup and Waylon Jennings were slated to be on the plane and that they gave up their seats to Ritchie and the Bopper. Dion was no where around any of this and was never even considered for the plane.
