 Some of the best stereo conversions I've heard so far are from the folks at Rollercoaster Records. They've posted some samples on youtube.

I really like what they did with "Lonesome Tears" - it sounds better than the original to me.

And I enjoyed their remaster of "An Empty Cup" which was always one of my least favorite Crickets records. The backup vocals are better balanced in the mix, in my opinion. It's an improvement.

And they've got a version of "Maybe Baby" without the background vocals. Holly's guitar is more prominent in this remix and it sounds great.
