Subject: The problem with Tutoring

This was a very interesting topic to bring up on the show. It made me think back to when I was in Jr. High and High School.

Being a latch key kid, I had to go home right after school let out, so I could never take part in any study groups that teachers may have offered. But I do recall many students that did elect to stay after often said that what they went over in study sessions was always what was on the next test. So these kids did have an advantage over the other students in the class.

Is this cheating, though? I could see a teacher doing this unwittingly. (not like Danny telling that girl not to bother with Faulkner...that was just stupid on his part)

Do schools currently have policies in them like Steven suggested? Can teachers tutor their own students? Do you think they should be allowed to? Is it intrinsicly unfair to allow paid tutoring by teachers because it gives the richer kids an advantage over others?
