The funny thing, though, is that in my experience at the college level, this is a "given." My number one piece of advice to Freshmen is to use the Office Hours of their instructors regularly. One of the things that usually happens to such people is that they may be told what areas to concentrate more upon as they prepare for tests. Nobody in my experience has ever expressed the opinion that this is unfair.
