I will be optimistic and say BP will do one of two things. It will either be a favorite among those in the entertainment industry and sophisticated viewers or may even catch fire the way Jerry Seinfeld did after a few years. I think for the majority of shows, except very simple-minded shows, it takes a "warm-up" period to get attached to the characters.

I don't necessarily think that is pessimism since if the
show were a show that conservatives liked, it might not be that good. That said, Americans seem to be going conservative in droves. All of my college buddies with families and houses in the burbs are Republicans. Yuppies and baby boomers like Malcom in the Middle and the flag-wavers enjoy patriotic shows where Americans waste evil-non-Americans. I'm surprised FOX didn't come out with "Boston Private". If it would have been CBS they probably would have!

I thought of that too. (that she was just trying to get the kids to wonder about things) Obviously, she is intelligent enough to at least entertain the idea that evolution is a viable explanation for human existence, as well as the diversity of all life. You are likely correct that the show certainly didn't suggest that the girl who had the abortion is destined to eternal hellfire and damnation.

To end, I'd like to ask you a question, (or anyone else out there following this). Do you think that by adding some really cool characters, (like Ronnie), that they need to sacrifice a few characters to keep their character count down. For us, (who have been watching), all the characters have been easy to follow, but for someone just starting to watch it could be confusing. I think the logical choice might be Lauren. Although, Ronnie is different than Lauren, they kind of share a niche. I think it would be wrong to sacrifice a villain. The villain is an important role, and several make it even more fun.
