When we use the individual parts for making assembly we use only part model
As well when we generate the drawing for the assembly we use the member parts only for assembly drawing generation and not uses the member part drawings.

It means while using the individual parts in assembly we don't need any drawing of that individual parts, so no need to increase the size of part file by adding its drawing so normally companys are using separate file for part model and part drawing.

As well when we use the part model for any machine purpose we need only part model for CAM programming not drwing so why should we add drwing to such parts and increase the size of file.

Same case for CAE result generation and other stuff.

The concept itself called as MAster model concept which we use fopr drawing creation, cam, cae, etc.
