Just a comment from someone who has a little background, if you don't mind me butting in, about the whole "jaded" bipolar disorder, the manic-depressive is not "jaded" with activities...they want to do them because they enjoy doing them, but upon taking on an activity, they don't extract the same joy from doing it in that depressed state...not because they are "jaded", but because they don't believe that it is worth anything, more of a "what's-the-point" idea going on. There's a difference...I don't know if I explained it well. That's the attitude that, when strong enough, makes bipolar people go suicidal. Not only are those everyday activities pointless, but so is life.

Obsession is actually another factor relating to manic depressives, though many do not know this. It's more along the manic side, when they get very excited and are in a somewhat insomniac state. They will attach themselves to something, generally a person (though it can be an activity, such as writing) and they can't let go of it. They become obsessed with them, thinking that they have a special "connection" with this person, and they conjur up all types of thoughts and make up scenarios that distort the true relationship between he/she and the person. About an activity, if a manic-depressive gets caught up with, say, writing, they may produce works nonstop for a while, though generally their previous quality will be lacking. The person will still believe in that they are a masterpiece also.

But both a jaded and obsession have consequences. You'd be amazed.

Fenira

Hope that made sense.
