Hmmm. Not quite ready to take the rejection as final, he inched forward like a young predator stalking his first prey, slowly as if he might not be seen that way until he rose to sit behind her, chest close to her back and nose nearly buried in the thick curls of gold, eyes studying her attention-diverted profile over one of her elegant-sloped shoulders. A book was more impressive then he? No, he did not believe that and he leaned in slowly, fractionally to faintly nuzzle her neck and touch a kiss to her ear.
