Stacy,

Yes, I can relate to you. I am missing both laterals (was not born with adult set). One baby lateral fell out when I was a child. My canine moved over. On the other side, the baby tooth remained (I wish my dentist had pulled it when I was a child). I just had it removed last week; I am in my mid-30's. My dentist created a false tooth made out of bonding material and put it in it's place until my other teeth begin to move over and fill in the gap (the gap was so large and upsetting to me, I wanted something there for the time being).
I also discussed implants but we figured with my insurance covering nothing (lotta help they are) they would cost me upwards of $6,000 and putting that on top of paying for my braces I just can't afford it. Not to mention the way implants are put in is totally scary to me! So I am going to have bonding done to my canines once everything is in place, to make them appear more like laterals.
Hope this helps! Good luck to you.
