I know this is a little early, but THANKS!!!!!
That you have time enough in your busy schedule (kids, hubby, work, friends, etc.) to maintain the site is amazing.
The most time consuming part of upgrading will more than likely be the deciding and setting up of all the features. The simple ones like – will people have to register first before they even see the forum, or view the forum publicly and register only if they want to post (I assume the latter); or the difficult decisions like should you bother setting up administrator-definable ranks or the private messaging system, and what should the CSS have. As they say the devil is in the details!
As a reference, one of my favorite PHPbb forums is one run by LUSH, they have a few categories that may relate well to this board like “A Voice From Above” for the administrative posts, “Questions and Information” for pretty much all the important stuff, “Rants and Raves” to gush or thrash on issues, and finally “Idle Chatter” is another good one for off-topic things. As an aside their Lite Lip Balm has been an absolute essential during this brace journey.
