I am to wear the finishing elastics 18 hours a day the next 2 weeks, which will make eating 100% easier. I deband at 8:40 and pick up my Essix (invisible) retainers at 4:50 the same day. These retainers should last the rest of my life if I take care of them. I will see him periodically over the next year to make sure all is stable, and will wear the retainers at night the rest of my life after the countdown wearing, starting at 24/7 the first few months. I feel so insecure: am I really ready? Will I remember how to live without braces? Will my teeth really remain straight after being crooked 50 years?
