TMJ here too although manageable. I posted before that orthos I saw didn't guarantee that braces will make TMJ better or worse. For me its a matter of relaxing the jaw muscles during the day and not chewing anything difficult that makes it tolerable. I have a very closed deep bite unlike yours. Some orthos wanted me to have the jaw surgery too...I said NO. They told me that opening up my bite and bringing my teeth forward may eleviate my symptoms without the surgery of bringing the lower jaw forward. I just want to have a better bite so I opted for braces at my age (47) and am hoping for the best regarding the TMJ. Good luck!
