 38 - also with tmj - started with palate expander, and then a twin block for 6 months each - headaches were gone within 1 month of the palate expander. I am now 2 1/2 weeks into braces and all my teeth are being brought back where they belong. I had a terrible cross-bite, my jaw would lock, and click and the headaches were unbearable. I dont know about your mouth - but for me - the tmj and the cross bite are all being handled. good luck.
