I had the exact same thing happen, except I wasn't eating grilled cheese, I wasn't eating anything! Yes, its the crown. Its not like your teeth, its very slick and the glue has a harder time gripping it. My ortho actually decided to leave it off for a while which actually translated into over a year. In a couple of weeks I go in to have it banded. Your ortho will probably either want to band it or (s)he'll have to rough up the side of the crown a bit to make the bracket stick. Don't worry, you'll be fine until (s)he gets it placed back on. Your treatment won't be drastically derailed because of it.
