Brackets can often pop off for various reasons. Some people on this board have had the unfortunate luck of many many brackets popping off. It's really a pain.

From my own experience....in more than two years in braces, only 3 brackets have ever popped off. It's usually no big deal. Be sure to call your ortho as soon as you can for advice. Usually they tell you to come in sometime soon to fix it...unless it's bothering you or making a wire poke out...in which case you should get over there ASAP.
