I had my wisdom teeth extracted before I got braces. After getting braces, I had all four premolars extracted and now my orthodontist wants me to have four molars extracted.

It's not uncommon to have teeth extracted as part of orthodontic treatment. No one likes getting teeth pulled, but the extractions were much less painful than I thought they would be, and the gaps are almost closed.
