I have never had an adjustment done on my braces yet (only had them for 6 weeks) but when I had them put on I had a pretty achey jaw afterwards. I have TMJ disorder and usually any type of dental work can cause it to flare up. I didn't get anything for pain when I had them put on because I was already on tylenol with codeine for my shoulder. Even the tylenol with codeine wasn't cutting through the jaw pain. I took some advil liqui-gels and they actually worked quite well! I'm not sure if you have tried them but if not..it's a thought.

Do you find that you grind your teeth more at night now that you have braces? I have a malloclusion as well, and lately I grind my teeth really bad at night and it wakes me up. I'm afraid I'm going to grind the brackets right off!!!! My midline was shifted to the right and the problems I am having seem to be mostly on that side.
