I don't think your ortho office would remove your braces if they thought you would relapse so fast.
I have heard of many people who wait about a week for their retainers.
You also have to remember that, even if the braces aren't on, your teeth will still be a little loose. So even if they shit a bit, when you get your retainers your retainers should move them back into the right position.
