I told everyone I knew I was getting braces. It was something I was excited about doing, so why not share it with everyone? A few were interested, most weren't other than the novelty of an adult getting braces. I talked more with the people who were interested, of course. By the time I actually got my braces on (everyone already knew I was getting them that day) I just showed up to work and had to smile to show everyone I actually did it and let the curious people look closer. No one was surprised, everyone was supportive, and I was just as excited about actually having them on as I was talking about getting them.

Tell everyone you know about it and be excited when you're telling them! It's an exciting decision! Let others be excited with you.
