Really? That's awesome.
I've only been able to find ONE website about a male dental hygienist. It's weird that there are not more.
When I contacted the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and explained some of my circumstances, one of the advisors told me that perhaps I could start off in the dental hygiene program, and while I was doing that coursework I could work on getting my pre-dental coursework prerequisites finished up. But then I asked her how many males were in the class and she was unable to give me even an estimation.
I wish I wasn't self-conscious. I would definitely do it and I'd be an awesome hygienist.
Ortho assisting also sounds fun. It interests me even more than hygienics, because I have such an interest in orthodontics.
I've no idea what I'm doing to do, but I'll continue researching options.
