I'm embarassed to say how many cavities I have too! and I'm only 20! And even before braces I brushed 5x a day and flossed 2x a day. I always hate it when people find out how many cavities I have and then react by saying "You must never brush your teeth, I have no cavities" but then I'll observe that they don't have nearly as good hygeine as me and don't have the extra challenge of braces. Even my dentist admits I have phenominal oral hygeine, although I always feel guilty and embarassed when I have cavities. I recently started using those plaque discolsing tablets, and I never have any purple on my teeth when I use it(indicating I brush well). I've cut sugar completely out of my diet, and cut back on carbs and try not to snack(tough because I have severe hypoglycemia). I have all tooth colored fillings. Just a little background on my teeth, My permanant teeth were late errupting, and they all came in discolored, that is a few different shades of white. They've always been sensitive, and I still have 2 baby teeth where there is no adult tooth behind it. I've been going to the dentist every 6 months since I was 3, and started flossing before I even got my permanant teeth in. And brushing since forever with an egg timer. I always worry that if my teeth are this bad and I'm 20, that when I get older I'll end up with crowns and root canal(both my parents have crowns and say they're not much fun). FWIW, everyone in my family has bad teeth.
