I have a question. Is there a possibility that your hypoglycemia is a contributing factor in causing your cavities?

I know that many diseases people have end up affecting the teeth. If not the actual disease, the medications they take to control the diseases have very adverse affects on their teeth.

Hypoglycemia is low blood sugar, correct? How can you possibly cut sugar out of your diet? Do you take those high-concentration sugar tablets? I figured you'd need to consume sugar in order to even live.

I have had way too many cavities (although I'd consider ONE cavity way too many--but I, too, am not going to say the exact amount) and I thought I was taking excellent care of my teeth. I was able to pin-point exactly what was causing my cavities, though, and that was drinking sugary drinks before bed without brushing. Because I realized that this was likely my problem, I stopped doing it. At my last cleaning I was told I have no cavities. The three before that I did have cavities. I was quite happy. In fact, I even questioned his determination. lol.

But seriously, try to figure out if your hypoglycemia has anything to do with your cavity production. I know the frustration you are going through, as I was EXTREMELY upset the second time I was told I have cavities (the first time it was expected, becuase I didn't take very good care of my teeth for a few years, then I became obsessed), and the third time was just terrible. But I don't think I'll need to have anymore fillings anytime soon, because I take even better care of my teeth now than I did then. Although I think one will need to be replaced because my dentist left a small crevice (which I swear he did purposely), which is rather impossible to clean. It was there during my last appointment, but I could easily see it turning into a cavity. I refuse to take any responsibility for that one, though. Or perhaps it won't turn into a cavity, but it sure does seem hard to clean.

This is just the logic and advice of a layman- I'm not a doctor, but perhaps you and your dentist could figure out a way to make sure no more cavities appear if the hypoglycemia would happen to be a significant contributor for the cavities. I may be completely wrong, though, so you may choose to not even listen to me. :P
