Hey babe!
Don't worry, okay?
I heard I needed braces when I was 16. I had bunny-teeth and I asked my dentist if he could make them smaller by shaving off a bit, but he told me that IF I wanted straight teeth, I needed braces. Lik eyou I got all tear-eyed, I really felt like crying.
It took me a long time to make my decision. About a year! And after that year, I decided to get them. I really want straight teeth for the rest of my life!
I didn't get to choose between ceramics or metal, I had to take metal, and I have to wear them for a year. I'm in my fifth month now.
Honestly, I do regret getting them from time to time, mainly because they hurt sometimes and because I still prefer the braces-free look :-) But on the other hand I'm really excited for the day they'll come off, and I'll have wonderful teeth!

And remember, you're not the only one who has to wear them: I know a lot of 16-year olds thathave them :-) And they look great ;-)
