is it ever possible to correct an underbite without jaw surgery?? i've been to 2 orthos. one wants me wearing a retainer-like device with screws that will push my upper teeth over the lower ones. i really didn't trust this. second ortho says surgery. in the end, i said leave my underbite alone and just fix the gaps+rotation i had. plus i really can't afford the surgery anyway or the weeks of hell after the surgery but it still bothers me a bit.

also, does it even make sense to leave the underbite alone?? am i at risk down the road for oral problems as i get older??
