Sorry, had to make some grammatical changes.

I'm keeping this post short because I'm using a public computer.

What cities like New York needs is a fulltime Adult Standards station.

I'm using this board because it's new,I'm posting to a different audience and I've exausted my
post on this subject on the New York Radio Message
Board.A substantial number of NYRMB posters and
readers feel that it's a pipe dream to see a
resurrection of this format.

WNEW-FM 102.7 is the ideal place for a Pop Standards
format because of the long history of the WNEW call
letters.WNEW is the premiere station for the sounds of
the Big Bands & Pop Vocals of the 40s and 50s. This is
the station where the "Make Believe Ballroom" was born.

Because we're in 2004, a station like this would have
to be more AC leaning a 70/30 balance (AC/Standards)
in order to draw the 45-64 year olds.

If this format gets the right promotion, (good sales
staff) and marketed properly, there's no reason why
you can't get 2.5 - 3.0 share.

WNEW 102.7 FM promoting its self as MIX 102.7 which is
a cross between WPLJ and Lite-FM WLTW may only achieve
mediocre ratings. But they will do better than a 1.0
share.

Afterall, if New York City could have a fulltime
Classical station, why we can't have a Standards
station.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy
