Bt loads great, but when I try to get on DP, it is so slow if I can even get on. Having the same trouble with one or two other sites, but on the whole most of the sites I go to will load just fine. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Is it on my end, my server or is it something going on with DP again? Help, Please

Thanks

I was having the same problem. I think the internet highway is having a traffic jam in rush hour.

But this has been going on since yesterday evening. All day today it has been this way. Is it the same for you? It takes forever to get on, then forever to go to any forum and it I try to login, then that is another 20 min. or more. If I click on the view all on a thread, no problem it puts them all up really fast, but if I want to see just one reply, it takes forever to load.

I have used AOL, Sprint,MSN and dumped them for the same reasons. I use Prodigy and never have the problems I have seen you and others complain about. When I had AOL I did experience lag times and non connections, that's why I dumped them. I also us Netscape as a browser. I'm not having any problems..

It's your local ISP, why don't you change to Prodigy..When I come up on the net, it automatically dials a 800 number and connects me into a OC3 server north of Houston Texas. It is a super connection and I'm using a dial-up modem...

Today, Dp is working great, but BT is acting a little sticky. If this keeps up, I'll have to check into something else, like Prodigy. I don't get it, they just did upgrades on our server, it has been crappy ever since. Oh well......

to check out prodigy, and according to their site, the 800 numbers are an additional 10 cents a minute. I can't afford that. I have a local number to access my server and it doesn't cost anything. Guess, I'll just keep plugging along with the one I have for a while longer. Why would they charge an additional 10 cents a minute on a 800 number?
Too rich for my blood.

I want to pay a flat fee for unlimited usage with either a local dial up or toll free number.

Don't apply for their 800 number. The reason I have it is because 1. they don't have a contract with any local ISP's here. 2. If the service sucks and you complain, they will automatically connect you to their 800 number.
All I can say is it is a wonderful Internet server. I also use Netsacape and not Prodigy's Browser..

After almost 2 hours on the phone to my server people, nothing accomplished. I decided I would download Netscape and see if it had the same damn problem. Low and behold, speed like you wouldn't believe. It is absolutely amazing. Maybe it is something screwy with IE???? Thanks for the info on Prodigy, may still need it....

I have IE, but very seldom use it. I always liked Netscape. Glad you found the problem. And people are always knocking Hotmail, but I have had good luck with it and I see other people bitch about their email provider..Been with hotmail for over 6 years now...

When there is a problem are they fast, efficient, and friendly? I am probably going to change my ISP because the local company just changed hands and things are not working well. Plus my questions and problems always go unacknowledged. I'll have to have a toll-free dial up though because I'm in the boonies.

Yes, that is what I have a dial up. My number is an 800 number which connects me into The Woodlands large Prodigy server in Texas. I'm in Arizona, I never have any problems. If i do, it's only maybe for a sec or two.
