Look i've said my piece on Bad Religion and it's obvious that we could argue till the cows come home about whether or not they are boring or uninspired. I think not! They almost single-handedly kept Punk Rock together in America during the barren years of the 1980s. If it is wasn't for selling their records during this period on their own Epitaph label then i don't think Punk would be as popular as it is today. Sure bands like Rancid, NOFX, Offspring would probably have exsisted regardless but the fact is that Epitaph help spread punk globally. Then there's the bands that Bad Religion have influenced - bands inspired to write about their political views because of them! The other political bands i like are Propagandhi, Good Riddance and Anti-Flag (yes i have heard of them - 911 For Peace is classic) Having world views doesn't make great songs!? Personally, i prefer hearing songs about different topics than listening to endless emo-CORE bands ad nauseum - which as a generalisation just sing about how shit their lives are. At the moment i think there are too many of this type of band -although i do like Hot Water Music, Rival Schools, Jimmy Eat World, Gameface, Saves The Day, The Promise Ring and The Get Up Kids. (so cue the slagging off of these bands!) But you obviously like this kind of music a lot so fair play!

I didn't say that i'm stuck listening to the same bands i did circa 93/94! All i was saying is that i never did go off Pennywise. My musical tastes are evolving all the time and i guess they'll continue to until i die, although you'll never get me to like Metal and Pop. Basically i like music from all sub-genres within Punk.

About not going to Break These Walls gigs? Look i may not particularly like their music right now BUT it will be interesting to see if they ever evolve into something better. Also i have ALWAYS supported this scene since i came to Hull in 1998 and i'll go to their shows to see the other bands. Break These Walls are only one band on bills of usually 3 or 4. I'm not gonna deprive myself of seeing other bands that i like just because they are on the bill. And the fact is they are playing on most of the forthcoming shows. Also i'm not childish enough to leave a gig when they are playing. So i'll be at the gig on the 10th to see if they have acted on my constructive criticisms. All i'm saying is at least make a start by trying to be a little more organised and getting a setlist together. Then you can get to play more songs for the limited time you have to play. I'd rather listen to music than silence or being told to stop being so miserable.

Credit where credit's due though at least they give a go and have started to put on their own gigs! At least they contribute something to the scene (unlike me). It's just musically they don't do anything for me like Bad Religion doesn't do anything for you. Why don't i start my own band? well right now i just cannot afford to. All the money i earn goes into paying my own rent, food, bills and taxes. I have about - £100 in my bank balance. If i was richer i would - but i just don't have the cash to buy instruments and amps. Also i can't sing very good and i would like my sound to be of a melodic one not meaningless shouting which let's face it anyone can do!

That's all for now i've got other things to do
