(wow, it's about time he's gotten back in the story!..)
Hornblower, reluctantly, was forced to kill his own crew, who had turned against him. He was horrified at the dark monsters storming his ship and his passengers, and when he saw that the monsters were also attacking the man with the staff, he figured he was on their side. Hornblower dashed over and slashed at the diving Drakin right before it landed on Raistlin. The beast went down hard on the deck, dead. "Don't ye be worryin' now, lad," he said to Raistlin. "I see ye be on our side." He stood up and yelled. "MIGUEL!! GET OUT HERE YE YELLOW BELLIED LAND LUBBER!" At the captains bellow, Miguel rushed out of where he was hiding, cringing at the monsters flying all over the place.
"Yes, captain?" he said obediently. Hornblower just pointed to Raistlin and then to the deck. Miguel understood and bent to drape Raistlin over his shoulder and take him to one of the cabins below deck. "Don't worry, you're not doing any good out here anyway, I'll get you somewhere where it's safe."
Hornblower nodded and then turned to slash down another Drakin before it could get to Raistlin or Miguel. His anger took over, seeing that his entire crew was dead because of that one dark-clad man, and he fought full force against any on-coming Drakins.
