That is certainly one way to look at it. But, try to read this with an open mind...Another may be that the landfill is EXACTLY the type of partnership that is necessary for the paddling community. The landfill understands they do have somewhat of a negative impact on the surrounding community and does what they can to give back to the community, whether the reasons are selfish or not.

This is not the place to solve waste management issues, but whether the paddling community accepts sponsorship from a landfill or not will not affect the fact that the landfill is there...and is necessary...and is not going away under the current system as long as you keep putting trash on your curb.

But, on the other hand, if we take a standoffish approach and make yet another enemy, then certain community improvements may not happen and guess what??? The landfill is still there and, most importantly, WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE A VOICE AT THE TABLE.

Would you have more success getting your point across to a partner? Or an enemy? Anyone treated like an enemy will certainly not listen to our issues...which is why the landfill is a good to keep as a partner.

That does not mean we should not question or even challenge them if warranted...the key is how one goes about it.
