Whew! Just got back from my working vaction in the great white north... Just in time to run my butt of this weekend at home & I have to go back up there next week to finish the job.

Most of my friends up there are still confidently downloading using K-lite, using the ip blocking tool & peerguardian... keeping them updated regularly. Most up there believe they're out of riaa's jurstiction anyway... unless Bush decides to bomb them. Because U.S. citizens have expressed such hate towards the French, they feel it's their duty to annoy the riaa & the U.S. govt anyway.

The reason why the riaa is busting children & little old ladies is they don't know better. These are the same people that always get viruses or hacked. These are the same people that open every attachment... even from senders the don't know. They're also the people that make spam profitable because they click on anything & everything.

Well, it's a good way to filter out the people who don't know how to use a computer or the internet. As I often said, if you don't know how to drive, get off the road. Maybe "student driver" should be attached to all "beginners" isp numbers.

I block some of my own family members from my mail because they foward me articles with spyware, spamware, or viruses embedded in their mail without knowing it. AMF, all my bettypearl addresses are closed for now because people who have the address caught the address-book stealing virus & tried to auto-forward to my address. Hopefully I'll re-open them soon.

I deliberately booked work in Quebec & Montreal way back in fall, during the Feb. Carnival & festivals up there so I can enjoy myself. This was "grunt" work again, not club, band or electronics.

I had to touch-up & revoice pipes for pipe organs in churches that wouldn't speak proper, sound good, or keep in tune, then tune the entire organs. I worked in some of the oldest & largest places of worship in North America. These places were beautiful. I've been in them before... but not in a couple of years.

It was all part of the plan I started back in fall to keep working & not go broke in the winter like the previuos winters. I'm sort of an odd-ball... not a nine-to-fiver. I make my own work, & know how to do all sort of weird things one wouldn't expect. In the past few years my pipe organ work had been restricted to a few favorite local churches who can't afford a big organ company were nobody knows how to voice pipes anyway.

Voicing pipes takes years or learning & experience. So a true voicer is rare. Most have to be imported from other cities far away, & are usually over 60. I learned by working through several companies, & a very talented French voicer (who learned in Germany). Before I was 30, I was voicing better than my teachers. Even now, I'm still the youngest qualified true voicer in N. America, & maybe the world... but it is a dying art.

The churches I worked in up there had events going on days & evenings. I couldn't work during the events, so was able to take frequent breaks to enjoy "little europe" & the festivities. For all the work & driving involved, I still enjoyed myself, & am looking forward to going back next week.

For P2P, use K-lite, leave the ip blocker on, keep it updated, download peerguardian & keep it updated too. You must share files or we'll cut you off! If everyone would share 25-50 files there would be enough files for everyone. If you have more than 50 files in your shared folder, move some to another folder or disk to keep your shared level below 50. The riaa don't care about small-time sharing.
