Odd sissie out here, I guess.

This "war on Iraq" is so much more than that. The Middle East has been a sore on the peace of the World since WW2. In my understanding, at the end of that war, the UN gave the Jews a tiny piece of land for their own, admittedly carved out of the Middle East.

Ever since, there has been unrest, and worse, in that part of the world. Myself, I believe that maybe the Jews did deserve a tiny piece of the world-earned with both 6 million of their race exterminated, and perhaps more importantly, exterminated with the rest of the world ignoring the problem until it was too late.

Flash forward. Years and years of terrorism from "the oppressed people of the Middle East". World (not just the US) policy of supporting whoever is "best" for now, and for your country-doesn't matter if who you support is a dictator or a saint (I can't think of any saints in that part of the world, but...)

Now comes 9/11...and everything changes. Not only did that day see the most people killed in one single terrorist attack-it happened in the United States of America.

Now the US sees that this is really a problem for us-maybe we should have been on the bandwagon before, but that is not how nations work, you know? Until one's national interest is threatened, most nations look the other way-the US is no different.

But now...we have determined that the Middle East, and ALL their Islamic, people repressive, anti-human rights regimes are a danger to us/US. And guess what? Saddam/Iraq has given us the perfect excuse to go into the ME (via their flaunting of the UN resolutions)! Perfect!

Not only will this war be won, it will not stop with Iraq. It may not be an overt war, as it is in Iraq, but it will not stop until the Middle East is a democratic area, the same as Germany and Japan are today.

I really feel strongly about this war-but not just about this war-about bringing peace to not only the Middle East, but, by extension, to the whole world.

What we have been doing has not worked-Bush's plan is the next best hope.

And that plan is to not support whoever happens to be convenient at the time, but to support what the US really stands for...democracy and human rights.

I'll tell you this-the US has had to swim in the same dirty waters as everyone else, and we have done bad things. But this President is one who truly believes that their is clean water somewhere, and he is doing his best to find it.
