sounds good to me Bryan...I know the setup you are talking about...I think it`s JR Enterprises that put their doors like the way you describe... I like that setup, it looks professional..

That additional box is on all Lang cookers as well, I spoke to BBQBayou who owns a Lang and he loves the warming box above the firebox..

Yes I have cooked several pigs but my cooker is a little different than what you are aiming for..

I cook them on a rotisserie, not flat out..

I spoke to several pig caterers before I chose mine and they all told me to go with as big as a door as you can get, especially if you are going to be cooking on an offset, chances are you are going to have to swing the pig "end for end" once or twice during the cook. So you`ll want all the room you can get for two people to get in there and turn the pig...

check out the JR Enterprises units, they don`t use an offset but the door system looks the same as you describe....


sounds like you are going to have a hell of a cooker there..
