Mop, This vessel came out of the Ford plant in Talbotville. The wall thickness is 3/8". It`s an air compressor tank.I do not make my doors like Klose or Lang. I discard the cutouts for the opening and add a 4" flatbar flange all around the opening. The doors are then made by bending a suitable sized plate down 90 degrees on all 4 sides to fit over the flange. I think this setup looks better. The only reason for 1 door was for cooking whole hogs. I believe D. Klose posted once that the heat loss from opening the big door was a moot point because the temp rises fairly quickly once the door is closed again due to the heavy thickness of the vessel. I would rather have two doors, maybe one bigger than the other, just don`t know if loading and unloading the pig would be a problem. I can`t put another door on the other side as my cooker will be to one side of the trailer with storage area on the other. I am also adding a36x48" upright.I would like to enter a few contests next year, You have cooked some pigs and entered some contests, what do you think of this setup Regards,
Bryan
