I don't know what the official statistics are but I think it is hands down at the high school level that the students with dyslexia have more difficulty with multiple choice and true false tests. The easy explaination for this is not only the reading and vocabulary involved but the grammatical order of the words and the double negatives often put into sentences and questions. In addition, questions are often in the form of "which one is not part of the Judicial branch?" Just throwing the NOT in, staggers my students and throws them into major disorganization for many wasted moments. With most of the upper level of college bound high school students, they can take the same tests, I do not eliminate any answers but I have to stop and restate the question. Such as "Three are part of the Judicial branch, one is not." If my students are given vocab words to learn from the chapter, they are often given oral tutoring, or computer assistance or a technology pen to learn the vocab. That is still part of the deal. I won't tell them the definitions at test time. I hope that helps. You should be eligible for a reader or if it gets down to it, an alternate test.
