Oh my yes I agree with the posting that says LD students don't fight cause they are tired fo it.
I am an Alma College student...I am 27 with 2 kids & have been going to college on & off since I graduated. 1st went full force ready to take on anything. After erpeated sessions of Profs telling they don't know how to deal with LD I had it. I quit. Went back after year or so to community college. Got as far as I could & decided had to go back to college because I want to be a teacher & could find nothing else I wanted more as a job.
Now after many years of going part time so I can for sure keep up & get good grade pt. I fight hard to get what I need & want. I am going to get this degree. I know this is where I need to be to help other students like me. I want to prove to all those who thought I couldn't go this far that I can.
I have the support from my parents, sister & husband though. It makes a huge difference to have people in your corner. Being LD is so frustrating..sometimes I want to quit too but then what good would all this hard work have done. Where would I go. You have to think long term pay offs. Attitude that is what makes a difference. Do you have a purpose?
