Hi,

I am the current president of the Council for students with Disabilities at Michigan State University. I am dyslexic myself and of the 1,000 registered students with disabilities at MSU about half or more are dyslexic. Mainly my organization trys to educate the university on Disability issues, work to improve our accessibility, and act as a support group for people trying to get accomodations. I have found that students with LD are the lowest average of people however in our group which doesn't make much sense to me. Does anyone work with a disability rights organization at your college any advice? Why do you think that people with learning disabilities seem less likely to fight for accomodations?
