The world was spinning,
What had it come to?
When a ferret came to Redwall,
And nobeast knew what to do?

When the young ferret came,
And soon was gone,
Did the Redwallers assume,
it was all a con?

Why did the mouse protect him?
Why did she go out of her way?
Though she is hardly remembered,
One must always say:

The mouse was a brave one,
And taht is no lie,
For she was there when he first arrived,
And she watched him die.

The Outcast of Redwall,
What a gloomy tale,
Whenever I hear it,
My fur goes really pale.

But one thing is to be remembered,
And told to children from every mother,
Never, ever, ever...
Judge a book by its cover.
