Which One?

Which is the better choice for your modern warrior? Is it a single long sword, or multiple short swords? I am writing this piece to show today’s warrior which one is right for them, which one will enhance their combat the greatest. I will now list the pros and cons of the single long-sword.

Pros:

A longer reach
Looks more threatening
It is slightly thicker than a short sword, causing it less damage when parrying blows.
They look cooler
More powerful

Cons:

They are heavier, harder to conceal.
They are difficult to use in close combat
They are more of a pain to store or hide

As you can see, it is an almost even balance between pros and cons for the long sword. It may have a longer reach and higher power, but they are harder to use in combat. An owner of a long sword might need to look into acquiring a dagger, which are good for close range. This might be an inconvenience to the sword-owner however, with the rising inflation and scarcity of merchants as the Dark Ages come to a close. A long sword can not be thrown, as it is too heavy and awkward. However, many old –school fighters still favor the long sword as their primary weapon, and it just depends on the warrior that uses it. Moving on to the pros and cons of the double-short swords:

Pros:
They can be swung faster, with better dexterity.
They are easier to conceal, and are lighter on the road.
They can be thrown quite easily for their light weight.
They are better in close range, for you can swing them in tight places.

Cons:

They are less powerful than a long-sword by themselves
They have a shorter reach, which could hurt them against long sword-bearing adversaries.
They are slightly more flimsy than their tougher cousin, the long sword.
They do not quite look as tough as a long sword

Short swords are obviously different than their cousin the long sword, and they can work out for the better or worse of the modern warrior. We can not come to a conclusion currently, the chase to close between the two for us to decide. If you have a strong feeling about one of these, please contact us. We hope this article will help your average, warrior life.
