Wishes

I wish that there was world peace
that nobeast ever fought
I wish love never had to be sought
that someday I'll find somewhere I belong
and that it won't be long
until that happens but
meanwhile I'm just
staring out my window feeling non-plussed
wishing on a bright star
shining far, far
overhead while I wish my life
away because of all the strife
in it and the lesson to be learned
happiness is never earned.
